11 Million Dots: A neighbourhood’s past and future—captured in art.
From Wesley Playing Fields on North Acton Road, visitors and residents of London’s Park Royal can now view one of the biggest permanent public art installations in Europe.
Thanks to Vantage Data Centers, a leading global provider of hyperscale data centre campuses, Loom, an arts and culture consultancy, and local artist Rafael El Baz, 11 Million Dots reveals the soul of a neighbourhood in a stunning visual display and companion oral history. Vantage Data Centers provided an entire data centre façade as the canvas on which to create this unique piece.
Located on Vantage’s second London data centre campus (LHR2), 11 Million Dots pays homage to the industrial history of Park Royal while celebrating its revitalisation as a thriving new urban destination for both residents and businesses.
11 Million Dots takes its name from musical notation, where each dot carries meaning and rhythm-echoed in the 11 million perforations that form the artwork, turning sound into a visible, tactile score of place and change.
